Meet Lisa

At a very early age, I learned to appreciate the importance and impact of clear communication. I believe the ability to communicate is by far our most powerful tool and for many, enhanced through either speech and language therapy or accent reduction training.

Communication allows us to build connections, nurture relationships, state our intentions, voice our opinions, reach understandings, learn, make progress, achieve goals, reflect and grow. I am honoured and humbled with each invitation to support a child or adult on their own personal communication journey and am proud of the quality of speech and language services I offer.

I received a Master of Health Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Toronto in 1993. Having worked in a health unit, private schools, numerous hospitals and nursing homes, I have counselled and improved the communication skills of children and adults for over 20 years.

My Guiding Principals

Trust Comes First

Earning your child’s trust is my foremost goal. Children need and deserve to feel safe. I believe it’s important to honour and acknowledge all forms of communication. As part of my practice I focus on listening to your child and understanding their preferences. Connection is built through shared joy, leaning into their interests, and supporting self-advocacy.

Functional Therapy

I use an evidence-based approach guided by professional experiences; Every child is unique, and I will meet them at their level. Progress is continuously monitored so that I can make adjustments based on how your child is responding to an applied approach. I focus on skills that will have the largest impact and support your child’s independence.

Educate & Advocate

One of the most effective ways to support a child’s speech and language development is to educate and train their adults. My goal is to teach parents how to be effective speech and language models to maximize support. I advise on accommodations that best support your child, and teach them how to advocate for these supports with others.
